Our Facility
Prime Gum Acacia Processing Limited operates a dedicated spray-drying and packaging facility for gum Arabic, designed specifically to convert raw Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal gum into high-grade spray-dried powder (E414) for industrial users.
Located close to major logistics routes and port infrastructure, the facility is designed with scalability in mind to support growing international demand. The facility focuses on B2B production for food, beverage, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
End-to-End Processing Line
The processing line follows the full gum Arabic value chain from raw exudate to finished spray-dried powder:
Raw Gum Collection & Reception
Raw gum Arabic is harvested from Acacia senegal (Hashab) and Acacia seyal (Talha) trees within the gum belt. Upon receipt at the facility, each lot undergoes initial inspection to verify cleanliness, moisture level, and absence of foreign matter before entering the processing line.
Cleaning and Grading
Raw gum lumps are mechanically and manually cleaned, sorted, and graded to remove bark, dust, stones, and other contaminants. This step standardizes feedstock quality and prepares the gum for controlled dissolution.
Dissolution in Water
The graded gum is dissolved in potable process water under controlled temperature and agitation to form a homogeneous solution. Key parameters such as solids concentration, viscosity, and pH are adjusted to ensure efficient downstream filtration and optimal spray-drying performance.
Filtration and Clarification
The gum solution passes through multi-stage filtration systems to remove fine insoluble particles and residual impurities. This produces a clean, low-ash solution that supports clarity, stability, and functional performance in the final spray-dried powder.
Pasteurization and Purification
The clarified solution is pasteurized to reduce microbial load and enhance food safety. Additional purification steps (such as centrifugation) may be applied to further improve microbiological quality while preserving the natural functional properties of gum Arabic.
LPG-Fired Spray Drying
The purified gum solution is fed into an LPG-fired spray dryer, where it is atomized into fine droplets through a nozzle system. Hot air rapidly evaporates water in the drying chamber, producing a fine, highly soluble powder with controlled particle size (typically <200 mesh). Process variables such as inlet temperature, airflow, and feed rate are carefully monitored.
Cyclone Separation & Powder Collection
Dried gum Arabic particles are separated from the exhaust air using cyclone separators. The powder is collected in sealed containers, yielding a free-flowing product ready for conditioning or packaging.
Cooling, Sifting & Conditioning
The powder is cooled to prevent caking, then sifted to ensure uniform particle size and remove any oversized particles. Samples are taken for laboratory testing to confirm compliance with specifications for moisture, solubility, and microbiological limits.
Packaging & Palletization
The finished spray-dried gum Arabic is packed in food-grade, poly-lined multi-wall bags suitable for industrial handling and export.
